We are Zac & Jodi 

It is our complete honor to parent our three kids: Elijah, Makenzie & Kamryn. We love them more than we can adequately express. But like most families, time is no respecter of our family. Diapers still need changed; food needs made; clothes need cleaned; money needs earned; homework needs completed, and church is important. We called a "halt" on time passing without capitalizing on it! We recognize how beneficial it is to have resources available to make the most of your time for your family, with your family and as a family! So that is what we are creating through AddVenture Coaching!

“Time flies.” “They grow up so fast.” Yes. We’re well aware of that. There is so much to do, and time doesn’t care. It just keeps on moving. And with it: opportunities. Cue the guilt, frustration, overwhelm and stagnation. We prayed so much for this family of five, and we don’t want to waste our days. 

One month I created a calendar of simple activities for every day of the week. Surprisingly, it came together quickly. 

What I found was that it didn’t have to be perfect. But having the resource readily available made for creating some of our favorite family memories. 

We did it! We made the most of our time together that month and it was all we’d ever dreamed. We were activated. It was possible to make the most of our time together. 

In discussion with other moms, I realized how many have the desire but not the delivery of creating special memories and doing impactful things as families. And we can help bridge that gap.  That Spring, our desire to create meaningful memories was bigger than the voice of lack, frustration and perfectionism. 

I sat down and in a short amount of time on green construction paper spelled out 25 activities and numbered them. Our son, Elijah, helped Zac & I draw numbers each day to determine what that day’s “activity” would be. It was not as complicated nor perfect as I had ever mulled over in my mind. 

I took the time to create a resource. We repeated it another round with different options. Our family looked forward to this time so much. Memories were created. We deepened our relationships, shared laughs, took pictures, strengthened our creativity muscles and helped the kids realize what gifts we each had. 

We had done many fun things before, but it felt so good to act on an idea, have the resources ready and spend our time actually connecting.

Life is a gift. People matter. And the family unit is the most foundational core of our lives. For our family of five, our home is our first mission field. Parenting and partnering with our son, Elijah, and daughters, Makenzie and Kamryn, is our highest calling in life. As Mother Teresa said, “If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.” Marriage. Parenting. Purpose.

Jesus came that we may have abundant life. Satan thrives on crippling believers in their mindsets so that at best, we survive…living far short of abundance and impact. I have been involved in several women’s and mom’s groups and hear the same frustrations across the board. Families get stuck in the routines of life instead of living a vibrant life. Moms are often pestered by the thoughts of inadequacies and/or overwhelm. Dads just want to make it to the weekend. And in the midst, the potential and desire of living life to the fullest, the way God designed, making an impact and creating beautiful memories are lost. 

Our desire is to help awaken and equip you as a family to move from stagnation to activation: making the most of your time for your family, with your family and as a family. You were meant for more! Having a partnership and resources will assist you in getting out of stagnation and into activation. Let’s live life to the fullest!  By the nature of time, life just keeps passing by. So often our desire to live a full life with impact and incredible memories gets lost in the simple passing of the days or in the accentuation of our inadequacies. Before we know it, weeks are over. We are flipping the calendar over to the next month. Then as the ball drops in Times Square all we think about is how we’ve let the ball drop yet again this year.

Life is meant for living. You were meant for more. When we have prioritized God’s best and started showing up for our family at our best, acting on our desire to create lifelong memories together and intentionally pursuing opportunities to impact our world as a family, we’ve looked back with extreme gratitude.

The calendar passing by isn’t a defeat or a continual reminder of what isn’t happening but a chance to praise God for the time we have had. If you desire to make the most of your time for your family, it will require taking care of yourself.
